Vegetable puffs

Vegetable puffs is my favorite snack. I used to get this from a bakery close to our house. It’s spiced mixed vegetables stuffed in puff pastry and baked in oven until crispy , buttery and flaky.

Tried my own method of filling with my choice of vegetables.. try this if you are missing Indian bakery.. can be easily done in minutes.

Ingredients

Puff pastry (store bought,frozen),thawed to room temperature.

For filling

1/2 – finely chopped onion,

1/4 cup – chopped beans,

1/4 cup – carrot ,

1/4 cup – peas,

1/2 teaspoon- chili powder,

1/4 teaspoon- turmeric powder,

1/2 teaspoon- salt ,

1/4 teaspoon – Garam masala,

Oil

Optional

Potato,

Capsicum ,

Beets

Description

Thaw the puff pastry for 40 minutes to bring it to room temperature.

To prepare vegetable filling

In a pan,at medium heat,

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil, fry onion until done.

add beans,peas,carrot and cook .

Now ,add chili powder,turmeric powder,salt,garam masala and mix well.. cook for another 2 minutes.

Switch off the stove.

Preheat the oven at 400 F and line parchment paper on a baking pan.

Fill the prepared stuffing and close the pastry sheet.. seal all sides with help of fork.

Arrange on lined baking pan and bake it in oven for 18 to 20 minutes.

Enjoy hot vegetable puff with ketchup .
